This is the best Mexican or Tex Mex food in the Baltimore and Washington metro areas. I have been to R&R several times and the most recent visit was this weekend. The staff are always very courteous and the restaurant is very clean. Our favorites are the chicken enchiladas, fish tacos, and quesadillas. But really, anything is going to be amazing. I prefer this restaurant to the one next to the gas station. It is nice to eat at a table rather than in your car.

I've had a variety of items from the menu and cannot recommend one over another. Is this a good thing? Maybe. The food is solid but not enough that I have a favorite-at least not yet. Like another reviewer said, the service could be a bit friendlier. However I won't remove a star. 4 star experience for Mexican.

Update: Came here to try it again because I want to be trendy and support small businesses! Ha. Really, I just wanted some Mexican food that was authentic. Got the taco salad, asked for a side of pinto beans and the chicken on the side since last time the chicken was sopping with grease. It came out, sans pinto beans and chicken on the salad. I gave the directions in English and Spanish, so there was no language barrier. That made me angry they couldnt follow directions. Hubby got green enchiladas, and he devoured them. Spicy and filling. Friend at the table also got a cheese quesadilla and it was delicious! Four for food! But service and so on, a thee at best.

When I visited my boyfriend in Maryland, he brought me here for lunch because I was super hungry. He really like the food here and thought I would too. He was right. He says it's usually busy during lunch hours because lots of people stop by for food. It's located in a business center so I assume many employees may eat here for lunch break. My boyfriend recommended me tacos al pastor, as he had tried it before. I got two of them because I knew my appetite was small even though I was hungry. The pork was very flavorful. I am surprised R&R is a chain because they were some good tacos. My boyfriend ordered huaraches al pastor. This was even more flavorful than mine. It was like a deconstructed taco that also came with avocado. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and urge anyone in the area to visit.

Super good authentic food. I'm from California and this is a really great taqueria. The lamb stew is delicious and the steak burrito I had was amazing. Hand made tortillas and everything. Five stars!

Amazing Mexican food in a simple atmosphere, prepared fresh and fast for very reasonable prices. A must-visit food spot. Since finding it I've been here 5x in the last 2 weeks!

There ain't nothing in Perry Hall but a few strip malls and reclaimed cornfields....thank heaven it has an oasis that is R & R Taqueria! We've eaten here a few times now and I swear it's better every time! The owner is a very nice gentleman who is quite obviously proud about his food and establishment--He will take time to describe everything on the menu and recommend dishes you may never have tried. I'm practically a virgin to Mexican food and have always wanted to try mole' so I tried the polo enchiladas with mole' and also ordered a pork papusa. The portions were very generous--three good sized chicken enchiladas with a side of refried beans and the Spanish rice. I have to say, that I've trudged through a lot of refried beans in my life and have mostly found them not worth the calories to even bother to eat them, but Their beans were silky, savory and wonderfully seasoned! The mole was perfectly piquant and complimentary to the chicken. The papusa was a rich, savory corn confection with ground pork-the chili sauce to add on top was a perfect pairing. I left so stuffed I could barely move! She had steak and pork tacos which she said were nicely flavored and filling too. I dunno, I was too into MY food to care! We'll be back!

I was surprised. It looks just like a hole in the wall in CA that doesn't serve good food. BUT they were friendly, MD friends gave rave reviews and Yelp gave good reviews. We tried it on a long day after moving to the area and sure enough it was AWESOME!! They even have beef tongue....yuck but it shows they are well rounded in their menu. I gotta say that it was really good and we will be going back there for sure! Another plus is that they are super close to us now!

We stopped here while driving I-95 N. I grew up in Southern California and was BLOWN away by how exceptional the food here was. It's not a polished place but that just reminds me of home. The staff were great, the food was delicious (I couldn't believe they had mole), and the price was on point. If you are looking for casual, divine, mexican food this is the place!

Oh. My. Goodness. I'm just going to keep this review short because nothing I can say will do this place justice. Literally the best tacos I've ever eaten. I am huge on Mexican cuisine, and I've never had a tacos that was this tasty, the pork was tender and juicy, the combination of onions, cilantro and pineapple made my tastebuds drive to the trainstation, wait in a queue, and buy tickets straight to flavortown. The sandwich my fiance ordered was amazing. For $7 you really get your money worth, it was huge! The service was very friendly and quick! The restaurant was kept cleaner than a Chic Fila on a Monday morning. The bathrooms also fit that bill (super clean). The mariachi music was really enjoyable. It's no wonder Guy Fieri came here. 10/10 would come at least 3-4 times a week.

Excellent food. I highly recommend the taco enchiladas and the taco al pastor - both are extremely flavorful. I would still rate Tacos & Tequila in Uptown Dallas as better tacos but this might perhaps be differing styles. Both options are excellent.

There's a delicious Mexican restaurant that I stumbled upon with a friend in Baltimore County not too long ago. We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite and pulled into a strip mall. As we were scanning the restaurants we noticed R&R Taqueria and decided to give it a try, we're both always down for Mexican food. When we walked in, we noticed that there were a lot of newspaper articles on the wall. Apparently R&R Taqueria has been recognized for their wonderful Mexican food and we were excited for our meal. We ended up loving everything that we ordered and decided to head back soon with a few friends. A few weeks later some friends and I were contemplating lunch and I convinced them to come with me to the place I lovingly call 'the greasy Mexican spot near White Marsh.' So we got in the car and headed East. When we arrived, we each placed our order at the counter and sat at a table. As it turns out, the group I went with wasn't too much of an exciting bunch because we each ordered tacos or quesadillas. Someone I was with ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. The quesadilla was loaded with cheese and chicken and was a delightful greasy mess. The Steak Quesadilla was the same as the chicken, packed with meat and cheese into a delicious greasy mess. Another friend ordered the Cheese Quesadilla and this got an astounding thumbs up as well. I decided to order something different than a Quesadilla and went with two tacos. The first one I tried was the Carne Asada. The meat was flavorful and juicy and all of the toppings really worked well together creating a basic, yet delicious taco. I also ordered one Chicken Taco. It had the same toppings as the carne asada taco and was just as delicious. Next time I visit I would probably order the same two tacos again. The portion was filling and really hit the spot. If you're looking for something authentic and greasy that has been featured on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, head over to R&R Taqueria in Baltimore County.

You may have heard of this place from Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Their reputation as one of the best taquerias in the country is well-deserved. Their food is hot and fresh -- from the homemade, fried-to-order tortilla chips to their el pastor tacos served with lime, raw onion & cilantro. Their flavors are authentic. Service is swift and polite. And their house-made horchata, when they have some, is the best I've ever tried. Downsides - while they have a kids' menu, they don't have high chairs. Parking isn't that great, since all the spaces in front of their building are set aside for 10-minute pickup for other eateries. During a busy lunch rush, you might be waiting in line for 10-15 minutes to place your order. And seating is limited to the space available; while it's a grand step up from their pilot site in Elkridge, it's still a crapshoot to find a spot to sit when it's really busy. But oh, is their food worth it.

Pleasantly surprised! Aunthentic mexican antojitos!! Pambazo, tacos de cabeza, al pastor, de tripa, pozole, sopa de tortilla!!! Clean place and good customer service. I give them 4 stars because their dessert menu is not the greatest.

  • Leah S.

DELICIOUS!!! I love their tacos and chili rellenos. The flavors are delicious. I would recommend takeout, the decor is lacking. I wish they would deliver though!

I really, really wanted to love this place. Mexican food is my favorite and my expectations were high for R&R. It was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and everything looked amazing on the show, especially the lamb. So we scheduled our day around getting out to Perry Hall to try this locally famous Mexican joint. Upon entering, we noticed no one but Hispanics working behind the counter (the best sign in the world), it was clean, bright, and the person at the counter was friendly and helpful. We grabbed some menus and sat down to take a look. Everything looked amazing - how to choose! The person at the counter helped us (he didn't have to - again, very nice) narrow down our choices. I went with what was featured on the show, the Lamb huaraches; my husband ordered the chori-pollo. We got our food quickly. Everything looked and smelled amazing. But... It just wasn't there for me. The lamb was tender, fresh, and moist as it appeared to be on the show, but it wasn't jam packed with flavor as I expected it to be. I also wasn't a big fan of the cheese on my plate, and the tortilla underneath tasted like it should've been cooked longer - it was a little raw/doughy tasting. Then again - this could be precisely the way it's supposed to taste and I just might not be a fan of that particular dish! The lamb tasted a bit gamey to me. It was missing something. The sauces served with it were amazing, though! My husband's chori-pollo was very tasty on the other hand. It was served with rice, beans, and fresh corn tortillas. I'm hoping that the meal I had was just not for me. It certainly won't keep me from going back there. Next time I'll be trying their carnitas tacos. I still recommend trying it out, but try something a bit more conservative on your first visit.

While the traditional tacos like the chicken or asada tacos are not as good, every other cut of meat is amazing - their lengua, tripe, and every other possible cut of meat is amazing.

When I have a craving for delicious Mexican style tacos this is now my go to place. Their queso dip is amaaaaaazing with just the right kick to it. They have the best homemade flan in Baltimore and I was thrilled when I ordered some and it was beyond my expectations. The fried tacos are to die for. Everything I've had and R&R makes me happy they are around.

I am beyond excited to have stumbled upon this place! If you love authentic Mexican food (at prices that aren't ridiculously inflated), LOOK NO FURTHER!!! This is one of those you-have-to-experience-it-for-yourself kind of places. :) Seriously legit food that is out of this world!!!! I totally understand why Zagat rated them #1 in the country!

Another first timer... Loved it. Got some standard tacos that turned out not so standard. Why? Because they were THE best tacos I've ever had. I'll fly out from California just to have some tacos here again.

  • Sagor H.

Fantastic Mexican food. So far I've only had the tacos and tacochiladas but everything has been spot on. The fish tacos are great as are the the lamb, beef, and lengua tacos. I still haven't had a chance to try the cabeza yet but I can imagine they are pretty awesome too. Definitely plan to hit this spot regularly. The plantains are a must try as well.

    (5)
  • Mike S.

If there is something here that isn't fantastic I haven't had it. The R&R Tacos Enchilados are among the best dishes I've had. Burritos are huge and packed with great taste. The plantains are a must. The staff are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Even though some of the ladies struggle with the language barrier, they are more than happy to help get you what you need. If you haven't been, you should.

  • Marylou M.

If this is as close to authentic mexican food as most ppl are going to get, then you need to keep looking. I've had authentic Mexican and this isn't it. I think this place is too commercial. Mozzarella cheese on an enchilada just doesn't feel right. I'm going back home to my tried and true; where the ingredients are actually from Mexico. My daughter had the tacos which she enjoyed (how can you ruin tacos?) Prices aren't terrible...but I won't be returning anytime soon.

R&R has the most authentic tasting Mexican food I've ever had. Everything I've had on the menu is delicious and at least worth trying- everything is inexpensive so why not?! Things to try: All of the tacos Quesadilla Chicken tortilla soup R&R taco enchiladas Tres leche cake Side note: Sometimes they close early which is a big bummer when you have a taco craving. I still go back though because they are that amazing.

Made my first visit of 2014. The place is amazing. I have tried almost everything on the menu and find all of it delicious. Very consistent every time I visit this great restaurant. 2014 Zagat Rated Restaurant! Speaks volumes about this establishment.

Very authentic, fresh ingredients, and plenty of flavor. What you get has an excellent cost to value ratio. R&R... you had me at fresh cilantro....

Yum!! This place is fabulous! The food is beyond excellent- fresh and tasty! We ordered the blackened chicken platter and veggie enchiladas. Everything was cooked fresh to order and had so much flavor! I love Mexican food and this is some of the best! We will be making the trip out to the suburbs often now! Don't expect a fine dining experience, but the staff is so friendly and the service is wonderful! We might have to come back tomorrow!!

So amazing. Most delicious tacos. People are friendly. Quick service. Nothing to even think about complaining about. I wish I had their taco seasoning recipe.

  • Jen D.

We had the steak quesadilla and steak tacos. The quesadilla was good, but unfortunately the cheese wasn't fully melted, leaving a very weird texture when eaten. The language barrier was a bit of a challenge. The employees are very nice, but did not understand that we wanted cheese only on the tacos. It took two attempts to make it right, but they were very willing to correct it both times. Clean establishment and the food came out fast.

Wow!!!!!!! Woulda gave it 5 stars if they used telera bread for the tortas. The Al Pastor is excellent.

    (4)
  • Tanya C.

Came here due to the good yelp reviews and had the tripe tacos, the R&R Tacos enchilados, and a glass of Horchata. The horchata was just wierd, my husband said it tasted like an oreo shake, not horchata. The tacos were just okay, but the tripe tacos were delicious. Food came out really fast and the service was pretty good. There is also a large selection of bottled hot sauces which was nice, but they were all stuff you can purchase at the supermarket. Would have loved a salsa bar instead. The location is in a large shopping center so there is plenty of parking and at a 3pm on a Sunday it was relatively empty.

    (4)
  • Meghann R.

Tacos enchilados were great, the sauce (mole?) provided a little bitterness, some heat, and some richness all at once. The tortas are supposed to be great too, but I just didn't have room. Tres Leches was also tasty. After only finding Tex-Mex for so long, this really hit the spot. Seating is limited, recommend as a to-go option.

  • Mariza P.

We ordered a chicken burrito, fish taco and chicken taco. The fish taco was good but the chicken taco was too salty. The chicken burrito was just ok, nothing special. If I have to go there again, I will stick with fish tacos.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have found in Maryland. After trying dozens that mix in too much Central American influences and not enough real Mexican bold and spicy flavors, I am very excited to try other items here. Red enchilada plate- 9.5/10 Sauce, beans, rice excellent. Composure of enchiladas excellent. Shredded chicken was very good. Nice square of queso fresco on beans was awesome. Al pastor burrito- 10/10 This is the best al pastor I have ever eaten. I didn't detect any fat which is always a killer for me with pork. The spices were deep and the pork broken down perfectly to incorporate the flavor. I can see why Guy Fieri checked out this particular item. The burrito was conservative, with just enough beans and veggies for contrasting textures. Lamb taco- 8/10 In my opinion lamb is best with mid-east dining, but here it was shredded, juicy and delicious. To me, corn tortilla is not excellent with lamb so I don't know that it is a necessary menu offering. Nice restaurant, not a perfect location or a great indoor environment but the food tested was extraordinary.

  • Joshua H.

The tacos were delicious. They don't put manteca on the tacos so they aren't as greasy as other taquerias. The tacos al pastor were served with pineapple and the meat was juicy and tasty. I would definitely return!!

Saw the reviews and was excited to go get lunch at R&R. Arrived with 4 co workers. Went inside and place wasn't that busy. Went to pick up a menu on the counter and saw a cockroach on the menu next to the cash register. We immediately left. A woman who had ordered her food came out right after we did and was disgusted. Disappointing we were really looking forward to trying the food.

Amazing food I have been several times now and every time is better than the last. I had chicken mole today with a handmade tamale. The chicken was fall off the bone and the tamale was great. Definitely coming back again.

I tried a carne asada, carnitas and chorizo taco. All were good. I likes the carne asada the best. Reasonably prices and the restaurant was clean. It reminds me of the taquerias in Phoenix.

Best fish tacos in town!!!! This location is less congested. The staff was very attentive. You get ur bang for your buck. Got the fish tacos and the chicken quesedilla

Nice authentic Mexican food! Didn't blow me away, but it was very good. I got the Camerones Mexicano and my husband got the pork tacos, I think he liked his meal better than mine. Tres leches cake was good, a bit too strong on the cinnamon though. I would definitely go back and try other dishes :)

Clean inside but very noisy - tv is much too loud. Tried the Chile Renno platter. Price was OK and service fast but food was seriously undercooked - the cheese inside didn't even melt!

Was not impressed. The food I wouldn't even say was average. The tortillas had a gross taste to them and were very greasy. The only good thing about this place was the fresh cantaloupe juice.

Very delicious authentic Mexican food. Lamb enchilada tacos were delicious! If you like good Mexican food and happen to be in the area of this place make sure you stop in. Staff was also friendly.

Simply Perfect. Incredibly cheap and delicious tacos, and reasonable prices for the entire menu. The manager is incredibly friendly. My favorites/recommendations: Chicken and Steak Tacos R&R Tacos Enchiladas Hurachas a la Mexicana A la Mexicana platter PAMBAZO!!!

  • Daniel C.

Everything is great about this place. Plenty of tacos to try, the tortilla soup special is excellent, and you can't go wrong with the salsa and guac. You have to try R&R! Just as good as the original location with a lot more walking around room.

    (5)
  • Dana G.

I crave R&R's food. Fish tacos are the best. Also really enjoyed chicken tortilla soup this visit. Consistently delicious, always pleasant service, & staff takes great pride in quality of food. Several customers drive significant distances to eat here.

Authentic, delicious and very affordable. This is my go-to place in the area. I recommend either the shrimp or fish tacos and chicken burrito.

  • Jackie D.

The food is excellent! My family loves this place. When the owner is there you get excellent service and great food. When he is not in the restaurant it becomes difficult to order and the employees are not attentive at all. When he is gone there is never ice in the soda fountain and you don't get exactly what you order. Bottom line...great place but check to see if the owner is working!

  • Lee F.

I've eaten here twice. Got the blackened chicken platter one time and the chicken enchiladas with red sauce the other. Not bad, but the meat in both dishes was rather dry. The salsa is a bit too salty.

My current favorite authentic Mexican place (Taco Love Grill) has some competition right around the corner! We were leaving the Avenue at White Marsh, trying to figure out what to eat, and remembered that our friends had recommended this place, so we headed to the other side of 43 to give it a try. As soon as we walked in the door, we knew we would be happy. The smells wafting across the counter made our mouths water. Now the hard part --- to figure out what to eat! We shared some chicken flautas and each got an entree (Huarache a la Mexicana, Huarache Barbacoa, and Chicken Sope). The flautas were fresh, but the meat in them lacked some flavor -- this would be what you order for your little kid or your picky eater. The rest of our food, however, was delicious! Everything was made fresh, and the meat was well seasoned. Mexican Crema instead of sour cream. A ~hot~ side sauce with a less-hot salsa verde option. Not a morsel left on anyone's plate. A great baseline experience. Looking forward to going back and being a bit more adventurous -- in addition to the standard steak, chicken, carnitas, and chorizo that you would expect, they also offer lengua, buche, tripa, and cabeza as proteins. We weren't impressed by the lack of decor or the cafeteria-style Styrofoam plates, but the staff was very friendly, the portions were right for the price, and the food was delicious.

Really an awesome spot. I usually go to the R&R in Elkridge but it's literally inside a gas station, so no place to sit or park. I decided to check this one out with some friends from out of town. It was so good that I went again with another friend later that week. Great space with plenty of parking and seating. First time I went, I got the Torta Milanesa Pollo - the cashier recommended the chicken over the steak. The sandwich was enormous, the chicken was fried perfectly, and the pickled jalapenos gave it the perfect tang and kick. I also ordered the lamb soup which was plenty flavorful. It had shredded lamb with chick peas and an amazing broth. The second time I went, I ordered the tacos al pastor, chorizo taco, and a tamale. All were really solid - great flavor and great sauces. If you get a tamale, I recommend it with mole. The corn tortillas they use are different from other places. Not sure what they put in it, but it feels a little softer in texture and it's not your standard white/yellow color. Slightly more tan in color. Still delicious. I would recommend eating it there on the spot. It's just not the same cold or reheated.

  • Bmore M.

Like other reviewers, this is my new favorite authentic mexican food place. Can't stress enough how reasonably priced this place is, along with how large the portions are....but most importantly, how FRESH and delicious the food is. I had fish tacos, which were cooked to perfection. I will be back in a few days with some of my coworkers. Its just a matter of time before they raise their prices, so load up while the "gettin' is good."

  • Brian H.

It's all about the food: excellently-prepared authentic Mexican selections including many varieties of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, and tortas. Be sure to check out the lamb tacos or huaraches. Impressive breakfast menu, too. Don't expect much beyond the great food, though: If you eat in, you're stuck eating from cheap styrofoam containers with bendy plasticware. Only bottled drinks are available. But service was relatively quick and the food was hot.

    (4)
  • G M.

4 stars for the divine fish tacos. Very fresh and worth the price. The quesadilla is also very satisfying. I don't like how they charge for water in a styrofoam cup and the huaraches was not that great. But overall a cute little gem with great fish tacos!

  • Tawney B.

I want to start by saying the food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and it is a cute and conveniently located restaurant. However... I woke up after an overnight shift went in for lunch at 3. It is 11pm now and I've been fighting food poisoning since and it is the only thing I ate today. I had been really excited to find the restaurant since I'm from New Mexico and this was my first trip. Very disappointed.

If you want a real taqueria, this is the only place in the area. Authentic food, very reasonable prices. The owners are great and use very fresh ingredients including cheese from Mexico. And my personal favorite is the Horchata. imagine milk mixed with ice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Great when it's hot but good any time. They also serve breakfast.

This place is amazing. I have lived in Baltimore for a little over a year now and finding good authentic Mexican is almost impossible. I found this place about a week ago and have been 5 times already. Everything is great and the people are so friendly. Everything is homemade here and the quality is top notch.

    (5)
  • Kaitlyn R.

By far, the best tacos I have ever had! The tortilla's are homemade and fresh, all of the meats are fresh and cooked to order and it's seasoned to perfection. I actually drive out of my way most of the time to go here instead of the Mexican place around the corner from me. That's the only downside, the location is not very convenient. Otherwise amazing. Employees are super friendly, they always remember me, and the food is on point!

    (5)
  • Neil R.

My lady and I just got back from eating here. The food was the best either of us has ever eaten, and we are both in our sixties. Both our selections were so totally flavorful we both had continual tonguegasms. The fact that the utensils were plastic might turn some people off, but who cares when the food tastes like this. I had the carne a la Mexicana, she had chori pollo, and every bite was sinfully good. If you are ever in the White Marsh area, make it a point to stop and eat here. We had planned on eating next door at Bombay Nights, but are so thankful it was closed.

  • R M.

This location of R&R is the more spacious and accessible for the majority of Baltimore. The other location (featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives as well as numerous articles in national publications) is a small side side-space attached to a Shell gas station on Route 1 (Washington Boulevard) almost in Laurel. With only eight stools and a dining area no larger than a decent-sized bathroom, the Route 1 location offers great food and the experience of eating at a place that was on national television, but that's about it. R&R serves up delicious and consistent Mexican food and they do it quickly. Don't expect to get chips and salsa or queso while you're waiting, but if you do order chips, you'll get freshly made, warm (and slightly oily) chips that are nothing like the run-of-the-mill chips served at La Tolteca, Don Pablo's or any other mainstream Mexican food purveyor. Also, cheese with your chips is not on the menu, but you can order it. I did, and received what appeared to be melted Velveeta. The cheese they use in the meals is entirely different and delicious. They use the white cheese that starts out as chunks and melts into a gooey and tasty complement to the expertly prepared meats. As another reviewer wrote, the food is served on and in Styrofoam plates and containers and the plastic-ware is flexible and flimsy. However, I'm sure that helps keep the food costs down to the surprisingly low amounts displayed on their menu. On the negative side, if you get a huarache, be prepared to have a hard time cutting it. It may make you angry that you are having difficulty cutting and consuming what has to be one of their best menu items. But to really benefit from R&R's expertise, have a few tacos. They are made with corn tortillas (no hard shell available) and are stuffed with meat. I had a chicken taco and a chorizo (sausage) taco and both were so delicious I wanted to order more even though I was full. They have other meats (tripe, tongue, lamb, pork, etc.) and they make their own salsa several times a day. If you're within a 25-mile radius of either R&R location and you're hungry, I encourage you to make the wise decision to eat there.

Wow! I haven't had a pastor taco this delicious since the street vendors in Mexico. This is the real deal; quite authentic and the price are incredibly reasonable! I just wish they served beer! A Dos Equis dark would do nicely to put out the fire in my mouth from their amazing home-made hot sauce.

Aww sooki sooki now. My favorite Mexican joint has a store front!! OK, it's really my only Mexican joint, because before this place I wasn't a Mexican food fan. But R&R has made me a believer in south of the border cuisine! Now Honeygo has something for everyone - Mexican, Italian, Asian fusion, and Indian. All are good.

Before discovering this place my go to was fiesta grill in bel air. I came here with my friends for lunch and it blew my mind. It's very authentic and you got big portions. I had the carne en pasilla which was perfect! My girlfriend got the quesadilla and I have to say it was one of the best quesadillas i've ever tried. If you're in the area this place is definitely worth a try. I can't wait to try the enchiladas!

Definitely some of the best Mexican places in the area. Carne Asada platter and Carne Asada tacos hit the spot. I've spent a lot of time in border towns in Arizona feasting on some authentic Mexican and this will definitely be on go-to when I get those cravings at home.

I've reviewed a few taco places out in AZ and R&R is as good as any of them for being in the Mid-Atlantic. I've had the tacos, the tortas, and the Alambres. The tacos are by far there best item. All of them are simple, some meat, some onions, some cilantro in a soft flour tortilla with either salsa or salsa verde on the side. Everything from the chorizo to the tripe to the cabeza (head) are simple and flavorful. The tortas can be messy but if you like having runny egg yolk as a condiment on your sandwich you're in for a treat. The alambres was good but heavy on the cheese, good while hot but once the food gets cold the cheese solidifies. The restaurant is very simple and sometimes you do need to wipe off a table but the food IMO makes it worth it. The staff while pleasant is heavy on the mexican/spanish accent but it never poses a problem. Make sure you get the fresh salsa and chips...it's got a jalapeno kick but it's goooood!

PRO: inexpensive but EXCELLENT value, super friendly service, nice lunch-counter atmosphere, best Mexican in 20 miles CON: small (but plenty of tables in & out). TIPS: ordering can get crowded - come outside of lunch & dinner hours or call-in, the Tacos are excellent

Tried today for the first time.... We were greeted by a nice man at the counter that was more than happy to go over the menu with us first timers.. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful.... I was super excited to find plantains on the menu... They were yummy and hot! We also tried the chicken tortas which also had a great flavor... Not very big but good... The service was rather quick and while we waited, the gentleman let my sister and me try the interesting drinks on the counter... If you go in you will see what I mean..one was pineapple and very refreshing... Will definitely go again to try something else..

We went there last week for lunch and the food was good. They gave my husband the wrong item, but it was still good. So, we decided to go there again yesterday for lunch to give them a second chance to get our order right, (since the food was so good.) We waited at the counter for five minutes. The three people behind the counter were more interested in whatever was on their phones than even acknowledging that a guest was at the counter. Walked out and went somewhere else.

This one has great Mexican food. From the very first bite you will find the food fresh & really tasty. I like this place because of their wonderful food and the comfortable atmosphere here. Go to this place and try some Tacos al Pasto, I guest you will like these.

Best(if not only) huaraches around! I usually get them with asada a la mexicana. Also their quesadillas are amazing! Their are plenty of reasons why some may not call the food here "authentic Mexican" but none of that matters. TASTE is what matters, and R&R has great tasting food! The gentleman who is usually taking orders is extremely friendly as well!

Ate here for the first time and the food was great. Large portions, very tasty, not too spicy, reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly. I will be a regular.

Just ate at this place for the first time. Actually got it for take out. Tried 5 different tacos and they were all amazing! I may keep this place in business all by myself in the future haha. Great prices and great authentic Mexican food!

Best authentic Mexican around. Everything is amazing and its family owned. It's so nice to get great food from good people without a corporate fake Mexican feel. Pollo a la mexicano is a sure bet. The tacos are too.

The hours state that they are open until 10 pm...the doors were closed before 9 pm. When I knocked on the door, the girl behind the counter made a customer open the door to tell me they were closed. When I told her that their sign said they were open til 10 she just shrugged. When I told her I was leaving the review on yelp she made extremely rude faces at me from behind the counter...too bad because all of my other experiences here never disappointed and the gentleman behind the counter was welcoming and helpful

Above average food along with quick & friendly service. What more could you ask for? The new location is more convenient than the previous one inside the mall. I hope they do well here!

Ladies room toilet broken. Served me chicken and choked on a bone and they were out of coco cola in the fountain drink. The staff spoke broken English and could not understand my order. The tomato I had in my meal still had a stem on it. Horrible.

All i can say is, The beef tacos are good. The rest of the meal was a mess. Sorry my nacho's do not need to be boiled in grease, they were drowned in a creme sauce, and were not even crunchy when we got them, The sopes were also drowned in sauce and lettuce it looked a mess, tasted ok. The charizo taco was so filled with grease that it ran out of the end of the taco and on my arm. Sorry, but for what we paid, we could have went to Fiesta Mexicana or LaSeranita and had a much better meal. If you go here, you will be better of going next door to the Indian Restaurant

Why do people complain about the language barrier at this place? First of all, everyone who works at the front of house can communicate in English just fine. I've never had a problem, and I have some picky orders that require a lot of talking. But more importantly, you're in an authentic Mexican restaurant ordering authentic Mexican food... like, come on. Anyway. The food is delicious, the place is always absolutely spotless, the service is fast and friendly. I do think it's a little pricey for the portions (have the prices gone up? I remember this place being super cheap!) Highly recommend. The shrimp and fish tacos are fantastic.

I want to like this place more than I do. My husband loves their breakfast sandwiches (nothing Mexicans about it but we have a serious lack of breakfast places in the area). Ordering over the phone can be a bit difficult sometimes and more often than not the order still isn't ready when we arrive. We had dinner here only once (another time at their jessup location) and could take it or leave it. The quesadillas were not what I expected. However the one craving this place does satisfy is for rice and beans. I have had breakfast and dinner with their rice and beans and love it.

This place is legit. Made popular because of its' appearance on Triple D, and yes, not all restaurants that come out on Triple D are worth your time, but R&R is different. The original location is in Elkridge (gas station), but food taste is the same if not better here. Sit down area is clean and service is friendly.

I'm very picky about Mexican food. VERY picky. I haven't dined at very many "Mexican" restaurants in Baltimore because I'm not convinced I won't want to jump the counter and slap the cook for putting out a joke of a Mexican dish. (Told you I was picky.) This place, however, was FINALLY what I was hoping for. I saw them on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and said to my wife, "We MUST go there." I was ready to drive to Elkridge to try it, until I went online to find the exact location and realized there was one right around the corner from me! HUZZAH! We finally made it to the Perry Hall store today. Took a little bit to find it as the Honeygo Village Center location doesn't have up upa glaring sign yet. The place was clean as you like and the staff were quiet friendly. It's obviously quite new. They didn't have any chips and salsa for us, because the machine to make the chips was busted. But I got a pretty plain-jane dish to start, Chicken Quesadillas. My mouth was dancing the dance of glorious AUTHENTIC Mexican food with each marvelous bite. I haven't had Mexican food in YEARS so to finally enjoy a good meal was a long awaited delight. We plan to go back, possibly a lot, and I plan to traverse as much of the menu as possible. We might even try a pilgrimage to the place where it all started down in Elkridge. Only two negatives for this place: 1) Signage. No sign up made it slightly difficult to find. It's next to Libretores. 2) The website. That ANNOYING pop-up needs to GO! It's far too campy and degrades this wonderful establishment.

Well we were traveling from MB back to home and decided to stop at this location rather than the original after seeing it on Triple D so we could sit down and eat. So happy we did. The employees are super nice and helpful. I ordered the chicken huaraches and it was delicious!!! Everything you could want on one plate. Hubby got the Al Pastor Huaraches and was equally pleased. He also got the chips and quac that also came with a super fresh and tasty pico. Very delicious. Will go back if we are in the area! Clean restaurant as well.

Had a party at home at these folks set us up with incredible quesadillas and 3 kinds of tacos. They included all the sides and could not have been more helpful. Great price too. This is the best Mexican food we have had, including a visitor from California!

Genius!!!!! The food is incredible (I always get the huraches al pastor). The only downside is the inconsistent service/lack of management. We will often bring people from out of town here because the food is soo spectacular. I wish I could order every single thing off the menu. I would honestly move to the one of the neighborhoods nearby just to come here more often!!!

This is my go-to place for authentic Mexican food in the Baltimore area. I go, on average, once a week. Good food at reasonable prices. It's hard to decide what to order because everything I've tried is so good. Tacos al pastor, tacos de carnitas, alambres, chicharrones...it's all great! The staff is friendly and helpful. This is not a fancy place, but you won't pay fancy prices, either.

I really had high hopes for this restaurant, but left disappointed. The place was a little hard to find because there weren't any signs identifying the place when we drove by. The gentleman inside did say the sign is on its way though. He was very helpful and readily available for any questions we had. Customer service here was excellent! Couldn't ask for nicer people and for that reason alone I gave it three stars. However, the food did not live up to the hype. The tortillas were cold. The chile rellenos were ok. I was surprised they didn't have meat and cheese filled chile rellenos; they only had cheese filled ones. My mom's chile rellenos are much better :-)The portions are generous and the meat used in the tacos was good- they season it well. It would be a good place to eat after a night of drinking because its convenient, fast, and fairly inexpensive- but if I'm correct, they close at 8pm. The place does need some decor. I love the fact that there are tables outside to sit down and eat. I grew up in Cali and I'm Mexican, so I like to think I know good Mexican food when I taste it- but I've tried much better. I may come back and hopefully this place will redeem itself. I really want it to.

Delicious, fast, cheap food. We had the tacos enchilados with an excellent, flavorful mole sauce. The taco al pastor was fine but could use a little more spice. The tortilla soup was perfect for a cold fall day. It hit the spot driving to Philadelphia from Washington looking for a quick bite that wasn't fast food.

Maybe I don't know good Mexican food, or maybe I'm jaded and prefer American-Mexican food.... This place was just OK to me, the service wasn't horrible but very very slow.

Food was great! Everything was made fresh and correct and lots of it. Good prices and location. Parking was a little tough but typical for Saturday and the A/C wasn't working. Plenty of seating and staff was very friendly.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
